
These past two weeks have been the worst thus far for this SOC (and perhaps all prior ones) as I simply didn’t have the energy to get everything done. It got to a point where I just wanted this SOC to be over so I could eliminate some of the internal pressure on myself for not hitting my goals.
The lack of energy was particularly noticeable in Week 6, but I was able to use the small bouts of energy I did have on lifting weights (though I skipped the most HIIT sessions) since I want to prioritize taking care of myself physically. Unfortunately, I didn’t train as hard or as long as I had planned since my energy was quickly drained.
I haven’t pinpointed the cause of my low energy but hope it returns. Ideally, I’d love to have more energy overall since I often have discipline and motivation, but often lack the energy to do everything. I have no reason to be truly stressed in life so I don’t think it’s that. I’m more inclined to assume it’s a physical reason but all my blood tests come back in “normal” ranges. My goal is to do a little research and experiment on myself a bit to see if I can remedy this lack of energy..
There was zero piano practice over these past two weeks and I debate whether I should just drop it entirely. I only plan for 17-minute sessions and yet I still wasn’t able to force myself to sit down and get it done. Same problem with Intense Stretching. I actually enjoy the stretching and feel great when it’s done but the energy just doesn’t exist when I try and get my butt on the ground to do it.
One positive change though is that I spent much of this last Thursday volunteering with a group close to my home. I ended up pushing most of the scheduled tasks for that day to Friday but I was able to get them done. I plan to make the volunteering a regular Thursday thing.
