Week 5 I’d call a success. The majority of tasks were completed (only falling behind with eating well and being cranky at work). I’d give Week 5 a B+. Week 6 was a mixed bag and averaged about a C-. I had a lot of success with sticking to my physical/exercise goals. When work and other errands bumped my planned workouts, I was able to recover. Between both weeks I only missed 30 minutes of cardio…not perfect, but not bad. Surprisingly, I find working out to be one of the easier tasks to consistently hit (though not always on the day scheduled) compared to some of the simpler goals such as stretching and crocheting. I don’t look forward to working out so much as I look forward to the workout being complete, but working out is getting more enjoyable than it was. Unfortunately, my desired results aren’t visible yet. The muscles on my arms and legs are denser and I feel stronger, but not much is noticeable in the mirror thus far. I’m sticking with the program though since change takes time. The first day of Week 6 started out strong and all the harder goals (workout and studying) were completed on time. I planned to push crocheting out to a double session on Monday, but it never happened. I didn’t pick up my crochet hook once during Week 6. My goal was to begin a new crochet project but I didn’t sit down and plan out what new project to start until Saturday of that week and then realized I was missing the proper hook size. All of that is a bad excuse because I could have crocheted another granny square or worked on anything else to improve since my skills are so limited, but I didn’t, therefore I’m giving myself a falling grade for Week 6 Arts and Crafts. Similar to working out, I don’t necessarily look forward to the study sessions but once I’m in the book, I’m hooked. The “U.S. Constitution A Reader” is far more in-depth and interesting than I anticipated. I was expecting a more thorough schooling on the Constitution, but instead it has personal letters, state decrees, speeches, and even some philosophy to understand the thoughts and state of mind of the fore fathers and what they envisioned for a new America and a new way of government that had never been attempted before. I’m still less than 200 pages in but it has a treasure of knowledge that I think many Americans missed out on learning in school and/or may be wise to review as an adult. I’d love to get to a all green/blue week but it hasn’t happened yet. However, today starts a new week so I have another opportunity to hit my goals.
GREEN= COMPLETED
BLUE= COMPLETED ON A DIFFERENT DAY
RED= NOT COMPLETED
