Goals: January 7 2024-March 30 2024
SoC Season 2 kicks off on January 7th and I’m excited! It’s been a month since Season 1 concluded and I’m ready to get back into having a structured week with concrete goals. It also helps that the new year just kicked off so resolutions and positive progress seem to have a little more enthusiasm behind them (at least for a bit). The time off from monitoring my tasks was really helpful for my mental space and allowed me to refresh so I can go into Season 2 with some pep. Perhaps in the future I’ll be practiced enough to jump directly into a new Season or take less time off in between, but for now the break was required.
I’ve done my best to account for the lessons learned from Season 1 (link) and organized my schedule and tracking tools to give myself the best chance of success for Season 2. The necessary prep was completed during the rest period following Season 1 so all that’s left is for me to start, which in my opinion, is the second hardest part of change; the first is continuing the work even when progress isn’t yet noticeable.
Many of the Season 1 goals are to continue into Season 2. I want to build upon the things that worked and free up more headspace to focus on the things I struggled with. For example, under Health & Physical, I don’t want to switch up how I train or start a new program but instead stay consistent and build upon the Season 1 tasks as I’m still very far from my goals. Towards the end of Season 1 I became very consistent with my workouts, but I wrestled with my diet. I need both to get to where I want to be. Therefore, I will continue with the same training but concentrate on bettering my diet.
There are also goals from Season 1 that crashed and burned and I want a second crack at accomplishing them (like stretching and splits). As part of lessening my mental load, I’ve decided to continue practicing what I’ve already learned with crocheting instead of stepping into a new craft. I’ve barely scratched the surface of crochet and I don’t want to lose what I’ve already acquired.
Something new for Season 2 is a Bonus goal. This is a goal that I really want to work towards, but I’m not sure I can fit it into this Season. I’ve set this goal to start one month into SoC Season 2 but it will only actually kick off if I’m flying through Season 2 with no issues. Otherwise, I’ll tack this goal onto my to-do list for a future SoC.
